Erectile Dysfunction
What is Erectile Dysfunction?
Erectile Dysfunction (ED) is defined as the inability to achieve or maintain an erection sufficient for satisfactory sexual intercourse. Although most men have difficulty discussing the subject, ED will affect a large percentage of males at least once in their lifetime. And for millions upon millions of men, it is a chronic condition than affects their quality of life. It is not unusual for men as young as 40 to suffer from chronic ED.
Although ED can be present in otherwise healthy men, it is more often seen in men with cardiac disease, hypertension, diabetes, high cholesterol, excessive alcohol/tobacco use, obesity or low testosterone.

Intracavernous Injection Therapy (ICI)
ICI Therapy is a safe and highly effective treatment option for Erectile Dysfunction. It works by using a combination of FDA-approved medications that are administered painlessly on either side of the penis. The medications cause a temporary increase in blood flow to the penis, resulting in a strong erection. The treatment is highly effective and virtually free of side effects. ICI has been widely used by physicians for the treatment of ED for many years. The American Urological Association (AUA) recommends ICI for injection in their official protocol for urologists who treat ED. It is generally used when patients do not respond to traditional ED medications.
